Karwar: A foreign national who was found outside a hotel in an inebriated state was shifted to Primary Health Centre by locals and police on Monday.
He was later shifted to District Hospital on recommendation from doctors at the PHC.
The tourist was high on some form of intoxicating substance to the extent that he was unable to recollect his name and nationality. However, the doctors had a tough time when the patient exhibited violent behaviour and even tried to bite them when they tried to start the treatment.
Meanwhile, the locals have said that the number of foreign nationals visiting the region has gone up by many folds. There are all possibilities of drug racket flourishing in the region and hence the police department has to be pro active in curbing peddling of drugs.
