Karwar: A cheque of Rs five lakh as compensation was handed over to the family of Paresh Mesta on Friday, January 12.
Honnavar Tahshildar handed over the cheque to Mesta’s father Kamalakar Mesta.
Paresh, a local youth was found dead under mysterious circumstances on December 8, following which tension prevailed in Uttar Kannada district.
The family had demanded for compensation for the death.
