No doctors at govt hospital, B Com student dies

yallapuradeath nnr3 newsk 70468Karwar: A B Com student suffering from tuberculosis died in a reputed hospital following absence of doctors and staff here on November 4 at Yellapur in Uttara Kannada.

Rajeshwari Naik (21) from Gosargadde village in Yellapur is the deceased. She was a second year B Com student in Shivamogga.

Rajeshwari was suffering from tuberclosis and was admitted to Manchikeri Government Hospital to provide oxygen since she developed breathing problems. But neither any doctor nor any other staff including a nurse was available at the hospital and was forced to look for other hospital. But her condition worsened on the way and she died.

Twice a week doctors from other hospitals attend patients here, victim’s patients lashed out at the government.
