Karwar: More and more precarious nuclear energy plants are being setup in India owing to greed, said Supreme Court Advocate, activist and politician Prashanth Bhushan.

Addressing the reporters in Karwar during his visit on Sunday, Bhushan said that while most developed countries are avoiding nuclear energy plants, India is working out ways to develop more of such plants which are not only expensive, but are also detrimental.

Opining that proliferation and dependence on solar energy is the better option, he claimed that the government is displaying some sort of reluctance to do the needful in this regard.

Bhushan said that from the outset, the Narendra Modi government seems not to have been mired in scams, but it is a dictatorial government.

“PM Modi is appeasing the capitalists. He has a soft corner for his corporate friends and this trend can prove to be devastating to democracy,” he said.

Bhushan lamented that saffronisation of the education system is happening in a systematic manner and that the textbooks are becoming tools to breed hatred for Muslims among young children.

He also pointed out with dismay, that there is a diasppointing trend in India where 80 per cent of the victims opt to avoid going to courts of law due to the high fees charged by the lawyers, delay in justice and various other factors.

“The judiciary has become a puppet in the hands of the powerful,” he said calling for a change in the judiciary system.
