Karwar: Roopali Naik, MLA of Karwar-Ankola constituency has lodged a complaint with the Superintendent of Police with regard to a possible threat to her life.
She has said in her complaint that she has been in the radar of some unidentified individuals before and after the Assembly polls and very often she has experienced events that confirm that her life is under threat. "I have seen miscreants following my vehicle, spotted unidentified persons suspiciously moving near my house many times," she said in her complaint.
She has cited the example of November 30, last year and said that when she was returning home after finishing an event, two cars kept following her vehicle. "Petrified by the incident, especially because it was late in the night, I informed the Police Inspector near Sea Bird gate and our vehicle was then escorted safely by the police," she said and stated that these and many other incidents have convinced her that her life is under threat.
She has urged the Deputy Commissioner and the SP to depute armed personnel for her security.
