Karwar: As many as nine bikes parked in the Land Survey department parking area were torched by miscreants of Monday.
A total of 15 bikes were parked here, out of which nine have been reduced to ashes, causing a loss of several lakhs of rupees.
It has been a routine for employees of Sea Bird and other projects in the region to park their bikes here in this space before proceeding to their workplace.
However, the reason behind this incident is not known. Of last there have been news of people stealing fuel from such parked bikes.
