Karwar: The ashes of former Goa chief minister the late Manohar Parrikar was immersed in river Kali in Karwar, Uttara Kannada by the BJP workers.
Parrikar's ashes and photo were taken in a vehicle with a procession organised by the party workers, via the Karwar-Kodibaug main road to the Kali river garden.
Later, Karwar Ankola MLA Roopali Naik, district president of the BJP KG Naik and BJP city unit president Manoj Bhatta went in a boat to Kali Sangam and immersed the ashes in the water.
District general secretary N G Hegde, Lok Sabha election spokesman Nagaraj Nayak, district spokesperson Rajesh Naik, former legislator Gangadhar Bhatta, Rajendra Naik, Kishan Kamble, BJP municipal council members and gram panchayat members, hundreds of urban and rural activists were present.
