Karwar: Corpses of two monkeys have been found in Avarsa area of Ankola of Uttara Kannada district and the same has unleashed a sense of fear among the people.
The cases of Kyasanur Forest Disease (KFD) has rocked the Malnad and the Coastal belt of Karnataka. The people of Uttara Kannada district too were shocked after two deaths in Sirsi-Siddapura area were attributed to the dreaded illness. Now, it is said that two corpses of monkeys were found in Avarsa village of the district. The locals say that the stray dogs may have eaten a part of the dead monkeys as there were injuries on the corpses hinting at the same.
The medical team is conducting tests on the dead monkeys to ascertain if the KFD virus are found in them or not.
