Karwar: Veteran litterateur Shantharam Nayak is selected for the District Rajyotsava Award 2018.
President of District Kannada Sahitya Parishat Aravind Karkikodi said that the list for this year has been finalised.
The 80-year-old litterateur has literary works like “Kaadu Hennu”, “Daari Maadikodu”, “Anubhava”, “Aatanka” and many more to his credit.
In the year 1984, he established a publication house named “Jinadeva”, which has till date published 90 literary works.
He has also been awarded the State Teachers Award and Dr. Syed Zameer Ullah Shareef Poetry award.
The award ceremony which began with an intention of encouraging young writers is now awarding Uday Madivala from Kumta, Shobha Hirekai from Siddapura, Shareef Harsikatta from Mundgod and Duttaguru Kanti from Sirsi.
On November 4, these young litterateurs will be awarded the Youth Literary Award on the platform of District Rajyotsava Award.
The award is said to comprise a prominent literary work and a citation.
