Karwar: In a humanitarian act, residents of Ankola taluk in Uttara Karnataka district made arrangements for the funeral of a leopard who died after falling in a well here.
Reportedly the six-year-old leopard had fallen into a well located in a farm belonging to Aruna Gunaga two days ago but the issue came to light later when it was spotted by a farm worker. The forest department was informed about the same.
The authorities, with help from the locals, brought the leopard out. Later, after the post-mortem procedure, a funeral was held for the leopard. The cause of the leopard’s death can be ascertained after the post-mortem report is known.
