Karavali Run Marathon takes city by storm

Karwar: Usually beaches are filled with tourists and localites who come over to enjoy the fresh air and tantalising wave, but on Sunday, December 9 the scene was completely different in Karwar.

Karavali Run Marathon took the city by storm. The event, sponsored by the Aditya Birla Grasim Industries was divided into three divisions namely 21 km, 10 km, and 3 km marathon.

Inaugurating the marathon, District in-charge Minister R V Deshpande said, “Enthusiasts participating in the marathon must remember to uphold the spirit of a sportsman.”

Manager of Aditya Birla Grasim Industries P B Dixit, Social Awareness Officer of Kaiga Nuclear Power Plant M Sheshaiah, Flag Officer Commanding Karnataka Naval Area Rear Admiral K J Kumar, Deputy Commissioner S S Nakul and others were present.
