Karwar: Continuing his tirade against the state government’s move of celebrating Tipu Jayanti despite facing opposition, Union minister Ananth Kumar Hegde said that Tipu cannot be compared to a mouse, forget comparison with a tiger.
Addressing the Parivarthan Rally at Kumta on November 14, Hegde said the state government is busy glorifying Tipu by terming him as ‘Tiger of Mysore’, when he was not even a mouse’s worth.
“Congress party rates Akbar as a greatest ruler by twisting history. There are many good and self-esteemed people in the Congress party who should consider quitting the party and join BJP,” said Hegde offering a red carpet welcome to disgruntled leaders and assuring them of being given suitable positions in BJP.
Speaking on the occasion BJP state president BS Yeddyurappa too criticized the Congress government for misusing executive to its benefit.
The Chief Minister has failed to respond to the needs of fishermen, farmers, weavers and women alleged Yeddyurappa adding that the state government had completely failed in creating jobs for unemployed youth.
People are waiting for an opportunity to dislodge the present government, he opined.
Shobha Karandlaje, Kumara Bangarappa, Hartala Halappa, Sreeramulu and others BJP leaders were present.
