Fact finding committee to be formed to find seven missing fishermen

Karwar: A boat named “Suvarna Tribhuja” with seven fishermen onboard, which had left the harbour on December 13 night, is still untraced. With this, the Under Secretary to Government, Home Department (Law and Order) K Padmini Devi has directed the Directorate of Police to form a fact finding committee, here on Sunday, February 3.

According to the letter submitted to the district administration, fishermen Lakshman Harikantra, Sathish Eeshwar Harikantra Madangeri, Manki Ravi Harikantra, Harish Moger, Ramesh Moger Bhatkal, Balachandra Malpe, and Damodar had left for deep sea fishing on December 13 night.

As the fishermen went out of reach, district collector Goa and commanding officer coast guard Karwar were notified for search operation on December 24.

The rumours spread on social media and other media platforms, the family members of the fishermen were distressed.

Padmini Devi has instructed the Directorate of Police to form a fact finding commission and provide day-to-day progress report on the investigation with every inch of details.
