Karwar: Illicit liquor costing lakhs of rupees was seized at the Joida’s Anmod Excise Checkpost, by the Excise Department police, here on Saturday, December 1.
Around 90 litres of liquor was being illegally trafficked by a resident of Gujarat named Mouseen.
Mouseen, a truck driver was returning from Goa, when the crime came to light.
The seized truck has a number plate with Gujarat registration.
According to the Excise sleuths, the cost of seized liquor is estimated at Rs 30, 26, 600.
A case has been registered by the Excise police.
