Eight Tablighi Markaz attendees from Karwar placed under home quarantine

Karwar: Superintendent of Police Shivaprakash Devaraju has said that eight persons, who attended the Tablighi Markaz meet in New Delhi recently, from the district have been identified and placed under home quarantine.

The SP informed that the district administration had received a list of 25 persons who took part in the meet. However, it was later confirmed that only eight out of the 25 were from the Uttara Kannada district.

“They have been put under home quarantine and the throat swabs of two have been sent for a test,” he added.

Meanwhile, the SP said that those violating the lockdown rules will be booked under the Disaster Management Act.

He also informed that cases have been booked against all those who took part in the community Namaz in Haliyala during the lockdown.
