Karwar: The newly-appointed Union Minister Ananthkumar Heggade has once again courted controversy after his contentious speech on journalists went viral.
During a felicitation ceremony held in Honnavar, Heggade said that some of the media persons were targeting him. “I have noticed that few channels are making false propaganda against me. I am not scared. Say anything you want. But I do not bother. Some media persons are a ‘confused lot’ (Yedabidangi) who do not know what to write, speak and what to ask. But Uttara Kannada journalists are good.”
His comment against media persons comes less than a month after being inducted in Union Cabinet as Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
Earlier, Heggade was slammed for assaulting hospital staff and his hate speech. He was caught on CCTV assaulting doctors at a private hospital in his hometown Sirsi.
