Karwar/Bengaluru: Janata Dal (S) Supremo H D Devegowda clarified that Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy will table the budget on July 5.
Speaking to reporters at Idagunji of Honnavara taluk, Devegowda said that there was no confusion in the coalition government in the state. “There is a good understanding between the two parties to run the government,” he said.
Vows performed:
“Idagunji Ganapati temple is of historical importance and a centre of power. So, I have visited the temple and worshipped Lord Ganapati,” said Devegowda. He performed the ritual of Ganapathi Homa to fulfill his vow promised if Kumaraswamy became the CM.
CM still doubtful about the budget:
Meanwhile, CM Kumaraswamy has expressed his doubts regarding tabling the budget during a meeting in Bengaluru. “Discussions are going on whether to table the budget or not. Few opine that budget can be tabled after the Lok Sabha polls, so it is still not clear,” he said.
“This time around 100 previous MLAs have been defeated, so if we agree with the old budget and get authorisation, it would affect the 100 new MLAs. It would be a problem if they pass a privilege motion. So, we are moving towards a new budget. I am not dependent on anybody on the issue of tabling the budget,” the CM retorted to the former CM Siddaramaiah’s criticisms.
