Karwar: A bike lifter, who was tested positive in Karwar and was admitted to the COVID-hospital here run away from the hospital, on Monday and was later arrested by the police at Kadra.
What is suprising is that he ran away after stealing two mobile phones from the ward.
The man was nabbed in Dharwad on charges of bike theft earlier and was brough to Sirsi. However, he developed symptoms of COVID-19 while in the sub jail and was tested positive later.
He was admitted to KIMS-Karwar on Sunday.
However, on Monday morning, he escaped the hospital by breaking a window.
The police tracked him down and arrested him at Kadra. Since he had traveled by a bus to Kadra, a sense of fear has engripped the region.
