Karwar: “The chief minister himself has said that there will be a state cabinet expansion very soon”, said State Revenue and Skill Development Minister R V Deshpande here, on Tuesday, October 2.
Speaking to the media in Majali, Karwar Taluk, he said, “The cabinet expansion process was delayed due to some reasons. Chief Minister Kumaraswamy has said that he would appoint seven ministers”.
On the question of whether MLA Shivaram Hebbar would be given any ministry, he answered, “He might be one of them. He is eligible.”
But on the question of two ministers from the same district, he said, “There is no rule that there cannot be.”
Reacting on the installation of Shivaji statue in Haliyal, he said, “Shivaji Maharaj is a patriot. Installation of his statue anywhere is welcomed. In most of the places, arrangements for the statue installation has been made. Everything should be within the framework of law.”
“Nobody must take law in their own hands. Including Shivaji Maharaj, every other great personality should be our role model. According to this notion, every great personality’s statue must be installed. But every individual must cooperate in making this happen within the boundaries of law”, he added.
Deshpande also said, “I’m not aware of any case registered on any innocent in the Shivaji statue installation issue.”
