Bomb floats to River Gangavali shores, naval officers take possession

Karwar: In a shocker of an incident, a bomb which is used in the submarines of the Indian Navy has floated towards the shores of River Gangavali, Gokarna here on Saturday, June 29.

The bomb floating towards the river shore was first spotted by the localites, who then informed the police. The police had rushed to the spot to assess the situation and buried the bomb in sand.

Later, the Navy officials of Kadamba Naval Base were informed by the police who also reached the spot and inspected the area.

According to reports, the Naval officers have taken the bomb into their possession.

The police officers have informed that earlier this bomb was used in Indo-France Naval Submarine exercise that was carried out in Netrani Island of Bhatkal town and the same might have floated and reached the river shore.
