Karwar: The Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Ananth Kumar Hegde has filed three more nominations, here on Wednesday, April 3.
He submitted it to the Returning officer and Deputy Commissioner Dr. Harish Kumar.
Hegde submitted them on the basis of the Election Commission code of conduct, wherein a candidate can submit four nominations.
Speaking to media he said, “There were no errors in the nomination that I had filed yesterday. In the place of ‘Not Applicable’ section, I had written abbreviated form ‘NA’. Only this was corrected and submitted.”
Answering to the questions on Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy campaigning in the district on Thursday, April 4, he said, “He can come to the district as a CM but has no rights to campaign as he had promised earlier that he would resolve the issue of land encroachment. He has failed to do so. He said he would waive off the crop loans, from which none of the farmers have found relief.”
“Instead of wholesome approach towards farmers’ loan waiver, CM HDK has issued a notice stating that the pending loans shall be waived off first. For this reason he has no right to enter the district”, he added.
Hegde was accompanied by his wife Shrirupa Hegde, MLA Roopali Naik and lawyer B S Pai during the nomination filing.
