Karwar: With the Post Mortem report refuting the claims that Paresh Mesta was tortured to death, Kamalakar, father of Paresh has opined that the reports were tampered and fabricated.
Paresh, a youth from Uttara Kannada was found dead in Honnavar under mysterious circumstances and several organisations accused a particular community of killing him. The death left the entire Uttara Kannada district torn in communal tension.
Speaking to media on Wednesday, Kamalakar said that his son was killed and he now expects a free and fair probe into the case.
“I want the guilty to be punished. I want justice. We are Hindus but my son was not affiliated to any organization,” he clarified.
Recalling the day Paresh went missing and the day his dead body was found, a teary Kamalakar said that his body was charred and since he is a fisherman, he knew very well how to swim. “I need an explanation as to how his body had turned coal black. Theory that he drowned is not acceptable to me, ” he said adding that he would not accept the Rs one lakh compensation announced by Congress leader RV Deshpande. ” I want justice, ” he reiterated.
