Karwar: Superstitious beliefs seem to be playing an integral role in state politics. Whether it is the frequent visit of our state politicians to astrologers or the lemon in PWD Minister Revanna’s hand, politicians of Karnataka have hit headlines for their beliefs.
The latest addition to this is the finger ring that is being worn by JDS candidate from Uttara Kannada Ananda Asnotikar, who recently lost the election to BJP’s sitting MP Ananth Kumar Hegde.
If sources are to be believed the ring costs Rs 50 lakh and Asnotikar is wearing the same to reduce the wrath of Shani (Saturn) in his horoscope.
Sources say that his astrologer had said that the wrath of Saturn is one of the major reasons behind his defeat. The ring, which has a deep blue sapphire studded on it, has been bought from Kashmir.
Asnotikar has openly admitted to the same and has said that his Saturn is in a weak position and hence he is wearing the ring after performing several rituals.
