Karwar: In the runup to the Lok Sabha elections opposition political parties have been mulling over putting up an united front to thwart the BJP from coming to power. Making light of their approach, which many feel can provide a tough fight to the NDA government, BJP leader and union minister for skill development Ananth Kumar Hegde said that the mega-alliance is similar to a pack of animals hoping to out power the tiger.
Comparing Modi to a tiger and the opposition parties – Congress, RJD, JDS, SP – to the lesser powerful animals in the jungle Hegde asked the people to decide who they wanted to emerge as a winner in the battle. Further he added that forming such a mega alliance with the ulterior motive of keeping Modi at bay itself was wrong.
He blamed the Congress rule for the poverty among the people today claiming that had BJP been in power for so long the people would have been sitting in silver chairs and not the plastic ones used now.
