Sirsi: Controversial MP and leader of BJP Ananth Kumar Hegde has reportedly received threat calls, on Sunday late night.

The call that was made at 1.45 am to the landline number of Hegde’s residence had the caller hurling abuses at Hegade.

While Hegade was not around, his wife Roopa Hegade received the call.

The caller had allegedly warned Hegade to mind his own business and not dare to make comments against the Muslims, failing which he may have to face harsh consequences.

The caller has threatened to kill Hegade, specifically talking on the backdrop of Ayodhya issue. After this, when Hegade’s wife disconnected the call, the caller continued to call the same number, it is said.

Hegde’s Secretary Suresh Shetty has lodged a complaint at Sirsi station.

Ananth Kumar Hegade had been caught in the eye of storm time and again for his statements. A staunch pro- Hindu, Hegde’s car met with an accident last year and then Hegade had said that it may have been an attempt on his life.
