Karwar: An ambulance carrying a patient along with his family to the KMC Hospital in Manipal collided with a truck near Kota in Udupi district in the early hours of Saturday, October 27, killing three on spot and seriously injuring two.
The deceased have been identified as Ullas Talekar (52), Shailesh Talekar (32) and Ashok Kankonkar.
Seriously injured Saritha Ullas Talekar and Aravind Talekar have been admitted to the KMC Hospital.
The bodies recovered from the spot have been shifted to the Kundapura Government Hospital.
Ullas Talekar from Amadalli, Karwar was suffering from jaundice, due to which his family was taking him to KMC Hospital in Manipal in the ambulance.
The ambulance rammed into the lorry coming from Manoor village of Kota town.
