Karawar: Nearly 200 new cases of coronavirus were reported in the district on Wednesday, resulting in a total of 7560 cases of COVID 19 in the district so far.
Among the cases that were detected on Wednesday, Karwar had 38, Ankola 14, Kumta 29, Honnavar 27, Bhatkal 7, Shirsi 33, Siddapur 6, Yallapur 27, Mundagoda 8 and Halilayala 11. Corona cases are on the rise in the district putting people in a sense of fear.
136 infected recovered
Of the patients who were treated at various taluk hospitals in the district, 136 were cured and dischareged on Wednesday.
So far 5305 people have been cured in the district. Among those discharged are from Karwara 4, Ankola 7, Kumta 12, Honnavar 13, Bhatkal 10, Shirsi 5, Siddapur 12, Yallapur 42, Mundagoda 8, Halilaya 3 and 20 in Joida.
Five Covid related deaths in district
Five coronavirus victims died on Wednesday in connection with corona cases in the district. The death toll in the district has risen by 90. Among the dead were one each in Bhatkala, Yallapur and Mundagoda and two from Honavara.
The talukwise death toll in the district is: Karawara 9, Ankola 7, Kumta 4, Honnavar 12, Bhatkal 15, Shirazi 10, Siddapur 1, Yallapur 3, Mundagoda 6, Haliyala 22 and Zoida 1. The death toll from Corona is alarming in the district.
