Chikkamagaluru: Two people were injured as explosives went off at Gujjenahalli in Kadur taluk on Saturday January 2.
The injured are identified as Manjappa (60) and Lepaksha (35), residents of Gujjenahalli.
It is learnt that the locals use explosives to hunt wild boars in the forest.
According to sources, the explosives went off when a local was filling them in a container.
Speaking to NewsKarnataka, Chikkamagaluru SP K Santosh Babu, informed that Manjappa and Lepaksha are recovering. Asked if any measures have been taken to ensure that the villagers do not get access to these explosives, he replied in negative saying that the explosives are prepared by the villagers indigenous using various ingredients and plants available in the forest.
