Chikkamagaluru : It seems that the state government has decided to stop the BJP youth morcha members from holding a bike rally to Mangaluru from other parts of the state. After Mangaluru police commissioner, now Chikkamagaluru SP Annamalai too has banned any procession/ rallies in the city till September 9.
According to an order issued by Annamalai, no procession will be allowed in the district till September 9 keeping in mind the sensitive nature of the district and to protect law and order situation.
Meanwhile, if sources in the state home department are to be believed, more district SPs are expected to issue prohibitory orders including Udupi, Mysuru and Shivamogga.
Reacting to the police decision, BJP general secretary, and city MLA C T Ravi stated that state government is trying to block the bike rally which expected to mobilise people against the anti-people policy of Siddaramaiah and his cabinet.
