Chikamagaluru: Miscreants planted SDPI flag on the structure where idol of Shankarachraya has been installed, at Shringeri in Chikamagaluru, on Wednesday late evening.
The action, evidently aimed at disturbing the communal harmony in the region has left the Hindu community members raged.
A protest led by MLA D N Jeevaraj has demanded arrest of the miscreants at the earliest.
The police have pulled down the flag hoisted on the structure and have registered a case.
