Chikkamagaluru: A small act of state urban development minister Roshan Baig has brought him laurels cutting across party line. All started with Roshan Baig’s visit to the famous Sharada temple of Sringeri in Chikkamagaluru district on Friday. Baig is the Chikkamagaluru district in-charge minister.
Sringeri Sharada Peetha was established by Adi Shankara in 8th century AD.
Even though news of politicians visiting mutts is not new, Baig’s decision to visit a temple when the whole Malnad region is polarized on communal lines was appreciated by one and all. Pictures of Baig offering prayers by sitting on the floor of the temple went viral.
District SP Annamalai had accompanied Baig to the temple.
