Kadur: Aam Admi Party’s efforts to woo senior JDS leader, former MLA YSV Datta into the party folds failed.
Senior party leaders had met Datta, on Tuesday requesting him to join the party. However, Datta rejected the invitation.
AAP leaders including Prithvi Reddy, who is the party state unit president met Datta with a message from the Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
Datta made it clear to the delegation that he has no plans to join the AAP.
He appreciated the AAP’s agenda and assured that he will support party in its pro-people initiatives.
“Till HD Deve Gowda leads the JDS, I will not join any other party,” he said.
Datta had been the MLA from Kadur constituency. During the lockdown, Datta hit headlines for starting online classes for Class XII students, free of cost.
