Chikkamagalur: Entry of tourists into Guru Dattatreya Bababudan Swamy Dargah, atop Baba Budangiri, a disputed site here has been banned for three day from Sunday, January 24, following threat to Republic Day celebrations.
However, there is no restriction on people visiting the Baba Budangiri hills.
Security has been beefed up at pilgrim centres like Sringeri and Horanadu.
Based on inputs from the Home Department, the district police have deployed additional forces.
The move has been made in wake of all-India alert and not because of any specific information on threat to any place, said a source in the police department.
