Mudigere: Farmers in the taluk held a unique protest with a slogan “Ayyayyo Tahsildar kaledu hogiddare, huduki kodi” (Alas! Tahshildar is missing, find him) at Taluk office here on March 4.
Farmer’s Association Secretary M Manjunath Gowda said, “Tahsildar is missing since 15 days. There is severe drought in the taluk and 164 villages have no water to drink. All the water sources have dried up and there is no one to listen to the pleas of farmers. “
“Though drought compensation is sanctioned, there is no Tahsildar to approve it and the developmental works have stopped. Taluk administration has completely failed”, he added.
MLA here belongs to JD (S), MLC Dr Motamma is from Congress and M K Pranesh is a BJP man. All three of them have different styles of working and they are not allowing officials to do their duties due to political difference. Due to these politicians’ pressure, officials run away and farmers are suffering due to their political games. If government does not appoint a Tahsildar here in four days, we will lock taluk office and hold a massive protest, he warned.
