Chikkamagaluru: In a shocking twist to Dhanyashree suicide case, the post mortem report of the teenager reportedly shows that she had starved herself for 36 hours before death.
Speaking about the case, which has now been linked to moral policing in the region, Superintendent of Police Annamalai had said that some vigilante group members had visited the residence of the girl before her death.
“The girl, who was seen in her usual chirpy self turned sullen after the visit,” the SP said adding that the five who had visited her house had hurled harsh abuses at her in front of her parents.
It has been found that the father of the girl was pressurised to record false statement after her death that the girl had ended life after he had chided her for spending most of her time on mobile and paying little attention towards studies.
In yet another shocking twist, even the friend with whom Dhanashree was chatting over whatsapp was a proxy.
It may be recalled that a teenager named Dhanashree from Mudigere had recently ended life. Though it was initially said that she took this extreme step after her father scolded her, it was later found that she was chatting with a friend over whatsapp and had made statements supporting the Muslims. The friend had leaked those messages to some saffron brigade members, who in turn reached her home and warned her. Soon after the incident, the girl had ended life.
