Chikkamagaluru: The district administration on Monday took up restoration work of the tombs that were targeted by a section of Dattamaladharis on Sunday November 3 during the Datta Jayanthi celebrations atop the disputed Bababudangiri.
The district witnessed a sense of tension after the incident broke out.
Petrol bombs seized
While stray incidents of stone pelting were witnessed in the city, in the market area, youth from one particular community reportedly pelted stones at the cops. When the cops nabbed them, they were shocked to confiscate six petrol bombs. They boys were in age group of 15 to 20 years.
Meanwhile, SP Annamalai has said that situation is under control and that about 307 cases have been filed so far.
