Chikkamagaluru: Chikkamagaluru Zilla Panchayat President B.S.Chaithrashri, who had written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the development of the district and requested an opportunity to meet him, received a positive response from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). However, the officials are yet to finalize the date and time of the meeting.
According to the ZP President, the officials from PMO had contacted her on January 31 and informed that the Prime Minister has agreed to meet her personally and assured of confirming the date and time at the earliest.
Chaithrashri had informed the Prime Minister regarding the ‘Non- open defecation district’ fame of the district. She had also written about the Jathas organized for eradication of open defecation and precautionary measures against communicable diseases in Chomanahalli of Keresanthe Gram Panchayat in Kadur taluk on August 18.
Chaithrashri is very happy regarding the reply and said, “as the first Zilla Panchayat President from Scheduled Caste community, it is my pleasure to meet the Prime Minister.”
