Chikkamagaluru: Following the recent petrol bomb attack on the Basarikal forest checkpost, the Anti-Naxal Force (ANF) personnel are on high alert and keeping a strict vigil on the Naxal prone areas since Wednesday, February 20.

Earlier, ANF had released a poster of the ‘Most Wanted’ Naxals Sundari and Jayanna offering cash prize to the informers.

It is now suspected that the Naxals got a scent of this and in retaliation, warning the ANF by flinging around six petrol bombs at the Kudremukh National Park checkpost.

ANF also suspects that about seven to eight Naxals from Kerala too might be hiding in the forest ranges of Malnad.

Amid this, ANF has begun its surveillance in the surrounding villages and gathering necessary information from the villagers.
