New Delhi: Slamming the petitioners for trying to malign the judiciary, the Supreme court on Thursday, April 19 dismissed a plea for a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the alleged mysterious death of special CBI Judge , BH Loya.
Saying that there was no reason to doubt the statements given by the four judges who were present at the time of Loya’s death, the apex court likened doubting the judges statement to questioning of the integrity of the judiciary. The court then dismissed the plea saying that it had no merit.
Loya allegedly died of cardiac arrest while in Nagpur, when he was in attendance at a wedding on December 1, 2014. He was, at that period, hearing the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case in which the present BJP national president Amit Shah was the main accused.
