Mumbai: A retired Navy captain named Imandri Shailendranath Trinetra, was arrested by the Mumbai police on the charges of fake assurance and promise on employment opportunities made to six youths.
Trinetra had created a make-believe situation of assuring a job opportunity for six youths in the Naval-base canteen. He had done a deal of Rs. 6 lakh per individual, summing upto Rs. 36 lakhs.
When the job seekers arrived at the Defense Audit Centre in Mumbai, with the job letter, the reality was understood.
The six, who were approached by Trinetra, are known to be students from the Saraswati Defense Academy.
The job letters were received at Delhi, and when the reality was known, the police took the retired Navy captain into custody and have said that further investigation will be made.
The Mumbai Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), Dilip Sawant, IPS has said that the arrested, is now under medical examination and will be soon interrogated.
