New Delhi: The entire nation is elated over the fact that long drawn, agonising battle for justice for Nirbhaya was finally made with the execution of the four convicts, on March 20.

However, after losing the case, Nirbhaya convicts’ lawyer AP Singh’s frustration was evident as he resorted to raising question at the character of Nirbhaya.

Singh was not doing this for the first time as the entire case was fought by Singh primarily focusing at constant character assassination of the victim.

After the verdict was out, while addressing the reporters, Singh said that even mother of Pawan wanted to meet him.

“His mother is handicapped. She wanted to see her child- the child she raised. You all come here to fight for one mother and you are turning blind eye towards the pain and sufferings of another mother,” Singh said.

Continuing to talk, he said that one should question Nirbhaya’s mother as to why Nirbhaya was out for so late and along with whom?

Singh, who had maligned the deceased victim very often over the last several years and once said: “If my daughter or sister was engaged in pre-marital sex and disgraced herself, I would have put petrol on her and set her on fire.”

It may be recalled that the Supreme Court dismissed the petition of death row convict Pawan Gupta against rejection of his mercy plea by the President and seeking stay on execution. The four convicts were executed on March 20,  5:30 am.
