Kerala: In a shocking incident a 45-year-old woman was arrested on Thursday on charges of strangulating and setting ablaze the body of her 14-year-old son in Kollam here.
The victim, Jithu had been missing since two days before his body was recovered from a banana plantation nearing the house in a dismembered and charred state.
The arrested, Jayamol being mentally unstable was often made fun of by Jithu, and this would lead to fights between the two. During such fights Jayamol would turn violent requiring the intervention of her husband, Job to calm her down.
The contradictory statements given by Jayamol, made the police suspect her version that Jithu had gone out to the pharmacy store and never returned home. She is said to have confessed to the brutal murder after being taken into custody for investigation.
