Mahendragarh: The Haryana police have decided to block the escape routes of the rapists, who had raped a 19-year-old girl in Mahendragarh district of Haryana. The Haryana police have formed separate special teams other than the SIT (Special Investigation Team).

Haryana police have also sought the help of the public. If anybody is found successful in finding the solution and summing up the case, such will be rewarded with Rs 1 Lakh.

The Superintendent of Police Nazneen Bhasin, who is leading the SIT on this probe, had met the family of the victim and received details regarding the medical reports. The medical reports have confirmed on the rape.

The case gained pace when the police got to know the suspect is a defense personnel (name not known) posted in Rajasthan. The Director General of Police B S Sandhu, said that a stringent action against the main accused will be taken, and a warrant issued against the same to speed up the arrest process.

The victim is reported to be a topper in the CBSE exams. However, the prime accused has managed to escape from the traps of police twice.

According to the statements derived from the victim, it is observed that the girl (victim)was waiting for the bus at a bus stop. In the meantime, a van halted near the bus stop, grabbed the girl into the car and took her to a remote area. There, she was given a drink which was infused with a sedative substance. Later, she was gangraped and left back at a bus stop in Kanina.

Saddened and traumatised by the incident, the victim’s mother expressed anguish against the police for not taking any serious action against the culprits. She was vocal about the negligence shown by the police and administration citing that the accused are freely roaming.

The opposition blames ruling party:
Former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has alleged that the BJP government had failed in commoners’ protection, especially women. He said, “The law and order have weakened. CM Manohar Lal Khattar should resign immediately to have washed his hands from his responsibility, on humanitarian grounds.”

“This is not a remote case. The criminals were moving freely even when the Congress was ruling Haryana. But the graph of crime rates have gone high in the BJP ruling”, he added.

The National Commission for Women (NCW) has demanded an update in the probe and has strongly condemned the act. Rekha Sharma the NCW Chairperson, who has also taken Suo Motu cognisance of the case, has written to the DGP Sandhu about the same.
