Ajmer: Several studies have proven that excessive use of social media leads to mental health issues, substantiating which an UK based web portal ‘Independent’ had also published an article titled ‘Six Ways Social Media Negatively Affects Your Mental Health’ by Sabrina Barr. In this, she mentions that two of the negative impacts of social media addiction are anxiety or depression. Similar was the case with a 25-year-old married woman, who was raped by a man (name not mentioned) after befriending her on Facebook.

On Tuesday, June 11 night, the woman was allegedly raped in a hotel room.

The two, who had become friends on FB about a month ago and decided to meet at a hotel in Kishangarh, had travelled by bus to the hotel there and stayed for a night.

According to the complaint filed by the woman, she was raped at night and was being left at the Ajmer bus stop in the morning.

Assistant Sub Inspector of Madanganj Police Station Bhanwarlal has confirmed about the complaint filed.

He has assured of nabbing the accused soon.
