New Delhi: In an act of exemplary kindness and service, the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) stepped forward to provide food for residents in the violence-hit parts of Northeast Delhi on Friday, February 28.
DSGMC volunteers distributed food (known as langar) to the people living in Shiv Vihar, an area that was severely affected by the riots.
The meals comprised chapatis, milk, and bread along with medicines. Other relief materials were also distributed to the residents. Additionally, three ambulances were also deployed by the committee to ferry the injured victims to hospitals in Delhi.
Meanwhile, the death toll from the violence that rocked North-East Delhi has risen to 42, and more than 300 people are said to be injured. Reports also suggest that about 50 per cent of the injuries are from bullets.
