Nagpur: Siachen braveheart Lance Naik Hanamanthappa’s wife Mahadevi on Thursday reportedly said that she would send her daughter to the army to serve the nation.

Speaking at an event in Nagpur Mahadevi said, “I do not have a son. I will send her to army.”

Mahadevi on the occasion said that she was saddened to hear about the recent ‘anti-national’ activities taking place in the nation. She urged the youth to refrain from indulging in ‘anti-national’ activities instead prepare themselves to sacrifice their life for the nation.

“My husband wanted to join the Army. He also got selected in police but he joined Army. I heard that anti-national activities are taking place in the country, i am saddened by it. We are born in Bharata and Bharata mata has given us place to live, we are misusing it. I urge youths to not do it. We must be ready to give our lives for the nation,” she said.

Lance Naik Hanamanthappa from Karnataka breathed his last on February 11 at Army’s Research and Referral Hospital. He was rescued by the army six days after the deadly Siachen tragedy. He had slipped into a deeper state of coma and was extremely critical with worsening multiple organ dysfunctions.
