Jammu: An apex member of the terror group Hizbul Mujahideen has been arrested in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district, police said today. Touseef Ahmad Gudna whose alias is Abu Bakar was arrested by the police on Tuesday, September 4.

This arrest comes just two months after the police found out about a module of the organization and its plans to carry out grenade attacks and revive terrorist activities in the district. Bakar’s name was brought up during the interrogation of arrested members on July 1.

Police say that with Bakar’s arrest there will be a likelihood that terror activities and youth indulging in anti-national activities will be diminished. Abu Bakar is also a close associate of terrorist Mohammad Amin alias Jehangir, was also involved in a terror case registered in police station Parimpora in Srinagar last year.
