Thiruvananthapuram: A shocking incident of a girl being expelled from a Madrasa for wearing a sandalwood bindi on her forehead, has come to light recently in Kerala.
The girl was acting in a short film and her role required that she wear a sandalwood bindi on her forehead. The Madrasa which the girl attended, took offence to this and expelled her.
Shocked by what happened, the girl’s father took to Facebook to condemn the Madrasa’s action and added that they were lucky their daughter was not stoned.
While many took the girl’s side, many others supported the Madrasa saying that what the girl did was un-Islamic and against Shariya Law.
