Amaravati: In a tragic road accident, a bus carrying pilgrims toppled, causing eight deaths on Tuesday, October 15.

Superintendent of Police Godavari (East) Adnan Naeem said that the bus, carrying around 25 passengers, toppled near Valmiki Konda on the Maredumilli-Chintoor road, eventually falling into a gorge.
He added that five of the passengers died on spot while the three others passed away on the way to the hospital.
Reportedly, some of the injured who were admitted to the government hospital in Rampachodavaram, are in critical condition.
According to the Maredumilli police, the accident occurred because the driver lost control of the bus. They said that the exact reason is yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, the locals have blamed the bad roads on the ghat section, as well as low visibility due to heavy rains, for the accident.
