New Delhi: Former Congress leader D K Shivakumar completed his term in the Enforecement Directorate’s (ED) custody today, over two weeks after he was arrested by the law enforcement agency. He was produced before the ED designated court on September 17, where Judge Ajay Kumar listened to both sides- the defendent and the ED.
After listening to the two sides, the judge remanded DKShi to the judicial custody, the duration of which he will spend in the Tihar Jail.
However, owing to the Congress leader’s ill health, the judge directed that DKShi be taken to the Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital instead of Tihar Jail. Hence, the former Karnataka state minister will spend his time in judicial custody in the hospital.
Meanwhile, the hearing of his bail application will be held tomorrow at 3 pm. If the court rules in favour of DKShi’s bail plea tomorrow, he will be released on certain conditions. If his plea is not accepted, he will be sent to the Tihar Jail.
